I paid my taxes using Turbo tax, and paying it online w/ my bank account. Does that count as Direct Deposit? I looked at my bank statement and its still not there and IRS.gov said the stimulus checks should have arrived for DirectD by May 16.
Anyone have any idea why mine hasnt come in yet? I paid my turbo tax fee AND my taxes using turbo tax. Im also under a contractor so i only have 1099 form. Does this matter? |

If you paid with you own checking account rather than paying out of your tax return you should get direct deposti, it may just take a few days.

If you paid your fees from your anticipated refund while doing your taxes, you will get a paper check, not a direct deposit.
You will also get a 2nd notice in the mail letting you know the amount and approximate date in which to expect your payment to be mailed by. |

Paying your taxes via Direct Debit is NOT the same as having Direct Deposit of a tax refund. The IRS cannot use the Direct Debit account details to pay your rebate so you will normally receive a check in the mail.
A few tax prep software packages allegedly had the ability to provide separate banking details for the deposit of the rebate money however I have not seen that personally. The fact that you have not received your rebate yet would indicate that you didn't or couldn't provide that information so you will almost assuredly get a check in the mail |

From the irs website:
Q. I chose direct debit to pay my tax bill. Will my stimulus payment be direct deposited to the same account? A. No, the account information used for an incoming direct debit payment to the IRS cannot be used as the account information for the direct deposit of the stimulus payment. People who choose direct debit to pay a balance due will receive their stimulus payments by paper check through the mail. |
